Spellbooks and legendary powers

Imagine traveling through the eras of time and slaying all the monsters that lay before you. Items dropping perhaps that idol you’ve been looking for. As you look through the loot something resembling a book catches your eye. What is that? Well its a book containing a legendary power that you can now learn!

Its a legendary a skill and you can only have 1 active at a time. This skill levels up as you read the book more and more (finding more copies of the book and consuming them) it does not have a specialization tree but each level increases its power by 20% to a maximum of level 20. Each legendary skill is unique but very power! Amd that power comes with a huge resource cost and long cooldown (better save it for those tough rares and boss fights!)

Legendary skills can be used by any character but only 1 can be equipped in the legendary slot. Can only swap skills in town. Swapping legendary skills does not reset there level.
Examples of legendary skills

  1. legendary thrust - you charge into enemy stunning them for 2 seconds. Completely disorientation of the enemy reducing the defense and offense by 50% and dealing 500% weapon melee damage on the hit.

Cost 100 mana 600 second cooldown

  1. legendary ground slam - slam the ground and stun all enemies in 10m range for 2 seconds dealing 400% weapon damage to all enemies -

Cost 100 mana 600 second cooldown

3)legendary full restore - instantly restores you and your allies mana and health to maximum and grants 200 ward.

Cost 0 mana 1200 second cooldown

4)legendary thunder clap - call down lightning in a large area hitting all enemies for 1000% weapon spell damage and shocking all enemies hit.

Cost 100 mana 600 second cooldown

What skill would you like to see?
Will your legendary power be enough to turm the tide of battle?

It’ll be interesting to see what their intentions are for legendaries. Will they be more powerful uniques? Will you be limited in the number of them you can equip? Will they have an additional slot?

Yeah I’m excited to find out.

Maybe with a 60 second cooldown, because there are lots of skills that would be about as good even if it had a 10 second cooldown.(except maybe full restore, which due to giving ward and mana would likely be one of the best mana regen methods for non-mana generating classes, even at 600 second cooldown due to how bad mana regen is right now)

Maybe if equipped in a slot similar to potions, as a “item skill”
