New archmage... is it good now?

“The multipliers to damage and health are now multiplicative with other modifiers”

does this now mean that the more mages we can have = the stronger our archmage is? or does increased mage cap not count as a “damage or health modifier” ?

It means the damage and health boost on archmage node stacks multiplively with all the other modes now instead of being added.

so its still worthless for necromancers then… got it

It not entirely useless since Archmage fires double the number of projectiles and has 130% more damage. This means assuming all his attacks hit the Archmage will do 4.6 x base damage of a Skeleton mage. With all of the +mages boosts you get 5 max.
