i know i am lacking a bit for the video card.
But when i am playing,
1- screen is black and can’T see anything but the UI.
2- I was able to see my character once but wow laggy.
3- Guess my computer can’T handle a simple hack and slash game… but for diablo 3 it’s working like a charm with full option on.
My machine:
Using a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)
i7 2.5 Ghz
16Gb of ram
Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

I’m not experienced with Macs but at first glance your processor is below the minimum system requirements listed on the Steam page, so if those minimum requirements are accurate, that could be contributing to your issue. The Steam page recommends either an Intel Core i5 2500 (which is 3.3 GHz) or an AMD FX-4350 (which is 4+GHz).
I don’t know whether your processor and video card together could be causing the issues you’re having, but being below minimum specs in two categories I’d at least expect some lagging. Take my thoughts with a grain of salt, though, I’m not an expert. 
I’ve been having the exact same problem since patch 0.7.3 iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014), 4 GHz Intel Core i7, 32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4 GB.
