Approaching Phase 2: A Sneak Peek at the Mechanics Guide

We previously posted the Early Access Forecast to share with you our development plans for up until release. In the two months since then we have implemented the majority of Phase 1 entries, and that can only mean one thing - the beginning of Phase 2 approaches!

With the exception of some Eternity Cache concept art, we haven’t been posting about the Phase 2 entries. This will be changing as we near the beginning of the forecast’s second phase. Today we’re kicking things off with a very early look at the in-game Mechanics Guide.

While we’ll be iterating over the contents of each of the articles between now and the Mechanics Guide being introduced, we wanted to show you its current layout;

Our plan is to have collapsible sections, each of which has entries which focus on a particular topic - be it combat mechanics, game systems, ailments, or so on. The sections will each have a landing page that has an overview for their respective topic.

A search bar isn’t currently implemented, though we plan to introduce one at a later date. It is too early for us to say with certainty whether it will be available when the Mechanics Guide is initially released. As with other aspects of the game, we’ll be gradually iterating over it in response to both our own playtesting and community feedback.

Tomorrow we’ll be looking at an upcoming new skill - make sure you don’t miss it!

Very nice I hope its as detailed as possible. The general mechanics are pretty easy to understand but there are some complicated subtleties with some skills.

Wait, a Mechanics Guide built into the game ??? EHG is brilliant, 10/10!

I’m also excited to get into Phase 2, because it gets us that much closer to new classes :smiley:

This is such a good idea! Opening a browser and going to different websites to look up info about parts of games gets tedious while you’re trying to play. It will be nice to have it built into the game itself!
