Alpha Feature Priority Poll

Background: A while back there were some conversations on the discord on what format LE should solicit feedback (in particular, polling). I mentioned this as a decent example of polls and some people seemed intersted in what the results were. As such I thought it’d be a good one to test out the polling features of this new forum :slight_smile: . I don’t believe that feedback here should necessarily be taken into consideration on the design process, although I do believe the results may be interesting.

The Question: In order of preference, what do you believe are the most important features to implement and flesh out before the start of beta? Choose the largest number for your highest priority and descend incrementally with lower priorities. (Priority one = 15, Priority four = 12, Last priority = 0)

The Options:

  • Skills and Passive Trees (Quality and Quantity)
  • Character Visual Identity (Armor models, animation, etc)
  • Story Content (Complete Chapters, Dialogue, Quests and Characters)
  • Graphics Optimization
  • Online Multiplayer Co-op
  • Economy (Crafting, Trading, Drop Rates)
  • Game Balance (Classes feel distinct, no choices for gear/class/skills/playstyle feel forced)

Done! Seems like Skills and Passives is winning by a long shot :slight_smile:

For me Skills/Passives, Graphics Optimizations, and QoL changes were top 3. Keep up the good work!

While we are working on the Rogue, we’d like to improve the classes already implemented first.

Interesting poll ! Actually missclicked the first one, put 0 to skills/passives haha
To me most important features are :

  • Graphic optimization (not really touched by that but important to make people play the game)
  • Skill/passives
  • UI is really important
  • End game content to keep players on the alpha to always have enough feedbacks to improve the game

for me Skills and Passives are the most important features closed followed by Online Co-op because together is all better. there are some realy good single player hack’n’slay out there, but i only look 1-2 times a month into it because i dont see the point in grinding for myself alone. even a leaderbord isnt in my interest.

World Building, Story Content and PVP are the thing ive little to zero interest in. PVP is wrong in the whole genre imho and a story / world dont make a good hack’n’slay. its the gameplay wich will decidie if a game is good or not. it could have the best story ever, but if the gameplay is shit, nobody will ever play it

I am glad to have been able to participate to that poll, thank you very much.

For me, the priority is definitely something along the line(s) of ‘Diablo 1 & 2’. Twenty Years later, Diablo 1 is still a game I enjoy re-playing over and over again. I believe that there are key components to achieve this and that’s what Last Epoch should (and is) aiming for.

My vote(s) went along with this opinion!

I agree with most of the ranking but I really do hope optimization is really well done for the beta. Don’t know if it’s a Unity problem but Rust really annoyed me with its performance to this day even.

I feel if people aren’t getting at least 60fps during intense combat people might shy away knowing Unity’s history.

For me its: Endgame, Skills and Passives and Economy but Customer Support is up there and PvP at the bottom
