Alpha 0.5.0.2 Patch Notes

Here’s our first major patch for bugs and improvements! We’re glad everyone is enjoying the Alpha so far. To install, simply close the game and re-open the launcher and it will download automatically!

Also, we’ve had some better success with a Mac version so expect that in the coming days. If you’d like to be notified when it is available, visit the support site.

Balance

  • Changed Arena xp scaling to make levelling quicker.
  • Made enemies scale more aggressively in the Arena
  • Adjusted early necromancer damage nodes to be less powerful, but more widely applicable
  • Buffed Omen of Silence’s health
  • Buffed Meteor’s damage
  • Added a small amount of base health regen to minions that didn’t have it, so that Increased Minion Health effects always does something
  • Nerfed damage of summoned skeletons

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug causing pre-alpha stahes, shards and gold to load instead of Alpha ones
  • Fixed regular users being unable to send chat messages
  • Implemented a possible fix for the screen going black/having odd artifacts. Let us know if you still encounter this bug.
  • Minimap for The Precipice is now visible
  • Fixed several bugs relating to hardcore
  • Fixed movement issues in The Precipice, The Council Chambers, The Armoury and The Upper District
  • Fixed some enemies being inaccessible in The Upper District
  • Changed center of the Tundra Arena to avoid graphical bugs
  • Fixed the waypoint for The Surface
  • Fixed the potion tooltip stating the wrong key
  • Corrected misspelling of block protection in character stats
  • Fixed potential edge cases with chat locking controls
  • Fixed Storm Totem disappearing from the skill bar when reloading a character
  • Potentially fixed an FPS issue with Healing Wind

UI

  • Chat error messages now display in chat instead of in windows you can’t close
  • Updated chat welcome message
  • Adjusted appearance of version text
  • Disabled circle minimap
We’re still looking into various issues such as the screen turning black and other artifacting issues. Stay tuned for further patches!

Gotta say, I’m impressed so far with the your team – the alpha hasn’t been out more than 24 hours and you guys already pumped out a nice patch addressing the initial issues, bunch of extras, and not afraid to experiment.

Keep it up and this game will be a solid success. The only other company in recent history being so proactive in alpha/beta (and still today) is GGG. I attribute most of that success to the same formula here - solid fun game and dedicated development with plenty of dev and user feedback communication.

Good job.

Good stuff. I already see some of the issues I highlighted being addressed  And <3 meteor buff.

“Implemented a possible fix for the screen going black/having odd artifacts. Let us know if you still encounter this bug.”

This still happens after about 30 minutes of gameplay. Lights starts to flicker right before the screen goes black. Nothing but restarting to game seems to help.

  • Changing areas seems to be one of the issues.
  • Changing the settings for graphics doesnt seem to have any effect at all.

Some other issues:

  • Void Knights Abyssal Echoes specialization point Dissolving Lights makes enemies get stuck in mid animation. (Started happening right after I picked the skill and can’t think of anything else I changed around that time)
  • Will the inventories, stash, gold and craftingscreen be wiped each time you patch?

Thanks in advance

We’ve tried another fix for the graphical errors, it’s in the new 0.5.0.3.

We will not be wiping each time we patch, but we may choose to wipe at some points in the future.

Thanks for the reports!

Beyond amazed by the speed of the patches.

I’ll start writing down issues as I go, hopefully we can consolidate it somewhere for reference.

Thanks!

Awesome…I lost all my items in shared stash sad
Can you re-enable the dev console please?
It’s ok to lose everything only if I can quickly re-loot them XD
Btw,the drop rate is abysmal in this version so for now I return to play the pre-alpha,It’s more fun ^^

And I don’t give a rat claw about multi,I pledged only for the Offline.
I hate Path of Exile* and only online games.

*And I pledged that horror a long long time ago…to play it 3 hours.
Would have be nice offline with drop loot tweak…no time to play 6 hours for zero nice items and 10 xp gain /:
So please,really please,think of us…no online gamers.

We’ve disabled dev mode because we want to start gathering data on what the play experience feels like, as we’re laying the groundwork for the full game, rather than having essentially a tech demo.

We will absolutely make sure it’s fun for offline players (with the caveat that, of course, SSF for uniques can be challenging). There’s a enormous amount of tweaking and system changes we have to make around items and progression speed before release so this will improve with time.

I hope so…since I play the Alpha,I never looted a Green…I don’t ask for Unique at each kill but…White only and the Grey/Pale blue rarity is no fun.
The XP curve is ok ( get 0 XP sometimes but it’s surely a bug) but really the drop and the restock shop are not my cup of tea.
I love shinies XD
Oh and,the game become sluggish when I play for more than 1 hour…my V-RAM is 8GB and my RAM 32GB…if it can help ^^

Are you on the 0.5.0.3 update now? That should help the performance over time but there’s probably more that can be done

Yep,It’s better on the 0.5.0.3
Thanks!
